Blanket Bay Villas, Glenorchy

Hospitality Landscape Design
Elevated view of Blanket Bay Villas with curved paths, structured hedges, perennial gardens and Lake Wakatipu beyond.

Blanket Bay is a luxury lodge set on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, near Glenorchy.

SITE prepared the landscape design and documentation for the newly constructed villas. The design uses stone walls and structured hedging to create privacy between each villa, while framing views toward the surrounding mountains and lake.

A functional network of paths provides discreet buggy access to each villa, supporting guest arrivals, luggage movement and ongoing maintenance without compromising the quiet lodge setting.

The client is a keen garden enthusiast, and the planting scheme combines hardy mountain natives with a complementary palette of flowering perennials, creating a garden that feels both resilient and richly layered.
